Jimi's second studio album (three to date, two more on the way for 2009) saw Jimi employ a variety of different pipes - Highland, Lowland, Border, Electronic and Arabic - and a bevy of top jazz, classical, folk and rock musicians for this ambitious, strongly contemporary and hugely entertaining effort. With the help of Scottish music producer Iain Mckinna, "Earthdance" saw Jimi deliver what Folk/Roots magazine described as "A fantastically enjoyable listening experience. This is the Edinburgh Military Tattoo colliding with Jimi Hendrix meets Pink Floyd at a world music convention. Brilliant." In 2006 the 'Scotsman' newspaper described Jimi as "a consistently interesting and skillful piper" who had "achieved the near impossible, namely the release of three very different and hugely entertaining albums with a broad appeal to both general music listeners and those of us steeped in the great tradition of piping".
