"Dirty Work" is the eighteenth studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released on 24 March 1986 on the Rolling Stones label through CBS Records, marking their first release under a contract with Columbia Records. Produced by Steve Lillywhite, the album was recorded during a period of significant tension between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. During the recording, the band faced internal turmoil, with most members having spent preceding years on solo projects or side work. Guitarist Ronnie Wood, drummer Charlie Watts, and bassist Bill Wyman were frequently absent from sessions, and it was rare for all five principal members to record together. Former member and frequent piano contributor Ian Stewart participated in the album, marking his final contribution before his death shortly prior to its release. Numerous guest musicians contributed, including guitarists Jimmy Page and Bobby Womack, and keyboardists Ivan Neville and Chuck Leavell, the latter of whom would continue with the band for decades. No supporting tour was undertaken due to the animosity among band members. "Dirty Work" achieved commercial success, reaching top-10 positions in multiple countries and attaining gold or platinum certification in the United States, Canada, and the UK.
