Diagonals is the third album by experimental one-man band Shambhala. Many of the guitar parts were recorded during the same sessions as 2008's The Ever-Becoming. This existing material was then fleshed out into lengthy compositions, culminating in eclectic and unpredictable song structures that could not have been consciously written in such a way. The opening track, "Aeolian Sands", features a Tibetan singing bowl juxtaposed over multi-tracked samples of singing sand (a natural phenomenon produced by wind passing over sand dunes).
