Album
"Death in the Afternoon" is the first album recorded by Murfreesboro, Tennessee-based rock band New Threads, and was released on March 24, 2017. The album was recorded between November 2016 and January 2017 at 337 Studios and Autograph Studios in Murfreesboro. All of the songs on the album were written by Jacob Keplinger and Justin Siegel, with the exception of "I Want to Go Home," "18 Years," and "The City," by Jacob Keplinger. To promote the album, an acoustic EP featuring four songs was released on January 20, 2017 called "Bootleg EP #1." The EP featured acoustic renditions of three songs from the album, as well as one song ("Next Year") that didn't make the album's cut. The band released the first single, "18 Years," along with a music video, on February 17, 2017. The video depicted bassist Robby Angelotti getting his first haircut at a real barber shop. The second single, "Calvin Klein," was released on March 3, and two songs ("The City" & "11") were released as promo singles in the weeks leading up to the album.
