Dawn FM is the fifth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd that was released on the 7th of January, 2022 by XO and Republic Records. The album was preceded by the lead single Take My Breath, which peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot 100. Intended to serve as a direct follow-up to his fourth studio album After Hours, Dawn FM features guest appearances from Jim Carrey, Tyler, the Creator and Lil Wayne. The album, which is primarily produced by the Weeknd, features additional contributions from Max Martin, Oscar Holter, Swedish House Mafia, Quincy Jones, and Oneohtrix Point Never, among others. The Weeknd first teased the album in May 2021 during an interview with Variety, where he stated that "The Dawn is coming". On January 1, 2022, The Weeknd teased a possible surprise album release on Instagram, where he shared a screenshot of a text conversation contemplating releasing the album soon. On January 3, he revealed the album's official title and announced it would be released on January 7, 2022. In the United States, Dawn FM debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with 148,000 album-equivalent units, calculated from 173.04 million on-demand streams and 14,000 pure album copies; it was blocked from the top spot by American rapper Gunna's DS4Ever, which debuted with an extra 2,300 units that week.
