"Cheerleader" is the lead single of Porter Robinson's third studio album “SMILE! :D”. It was released on March 20th, 2024 through Mom+Pop. It was released together with a music video directed by Hugh Mulhern and creative-directed by Bradley & Pablo. "Cheerleader" is Porter Robinson's first solo release in two years. On writing the song, he said: "When I got back in the studio for 'Cheerleader', I asked: what would be something that people could love with zero context – just instantaneous, universal, explosive connection?
