CARE THOU NOT was recorded at the Webster Street studio in South Philadelphia back in 2003. The band disintegrated over the course of the album as various members moved to different states, living arrangements, and/or life-phases. Consequently, while the meat of the album consists of songs from the classic phase of the band not featured on Sleepy Company, plus two covers featured in the live set (To My Beloved Martha and Sex Beat), the album also includes sketchs, studio creations, and a Kendra Smith cover. Matt Stevenson of Radio Eris, a fan of the band, served as recording tech and popped up on some of the latter sessions.
