Album
"Bridges to Babylon" is the twenty-first studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released by Virgin Records on 29 September 1997. It was issued as a double album on vinyl and as a single CD, and was supported by the year-long "Bridges to Babylon Tour," which achieved commercial success. For this album, the band worked with multiple producers, including the Dust Brothers, Don Was, and Rob Fraboni, rather than relying solely on Mick Jagger and Keith Richards alongside a single outside producer, as had been the case for several previous albums. A wide range of guest musicians contributed to the tracks alongside Jagger, Richards, Ronnie Wood (guitar), and Charlie Watts (drums). The album encompasses various musical styles, including blues rock, hip hop, and rap influences. During recording, Jagger and Richards were reportedly not on speaking terms, recording their parts separately, though they reconciled sufficiently to undertake the supporting tour. "Bridges to Babylon" received mixed critical reviews but performed well commercially, earning gold or platinum certification in multiple markets. It produced the worldwide Top 40 single "Anybody Seen My Baby?". User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
