Album
Alivio is the first extended play by South Korean singer Chung Ha, released in 2024. The EP marks her first official release as an independent artist following her departure from MNH Entertainment. The project represents a personal and artistic reset in Chung Ha’s career, moving away from the high-concept and maximalist approach of her earlier releases toward a more intimate, restrained, and emotionally direct sound. As suggested by its title, Alivio (Spanish for “relief”), the EP centers on themes of emotional release, healing, autonomy, and self-reclamation. Musically, Alivio blends alternative pop, soft R&B, and atmospheric ballads, favoring minimalist production that highlights vocal expression and lyrical vulnerability. Rather than pursuing commercial spectacle, the EP emphasizes emotional clarity and introspection. Some media outlets have referred to Alivio as Chung Ha’s “first mini album”; however, this designation reflects its status as her first EP released under a new independent phase, not her first mini album overall, as she had previously released multiple EPs earlier in her career. Alivio was noted for its subdued yet deliberate direction and was received as a transitional but meaningful release, reinforcing Chung Ha’s artistic independence and renewed creative control.
