Originally called Even More So, soon replaced by Spidered, and yet later still the numericists amongst the Spider dlb naming of albums committee triumphed with the inspired title 2013. You can call it what you like, and most probably you will. There's something for just about 6 people on this album, any more will be a lovely surprise. There's a lot of bass guitar on here, subject to a variety of treatments, but there are at least two tracks with no bass guitar at all....see if you can spot them! 2013 and 22001133 are bass solos improvised around a common theme (one is a bit longer than the other) using delay, whilst Spidelerium 2 is a solo which has been treated to various effects after recording for that 'simply pulverised' sound, or as Exile Pots says: "like being set free to bounce on a sonic trampoline whilst simultaneously becoming part of the very fabric upon which you bounce, yet remaining curiously free to bounce upon that which you are now wholly a part." That's the sort of comment that inspires us to keep busy in the Spider Chamber till the small hours. I am wholly indebted to the Fluxliner for remembering Imagen, which has now duly been unearthed and included, along with a couple of other relative latecomers, Trollitude 2 (an almost straightforward bass guitar solo) and Priff. The latter is reputed to be slightly influenced by the work of an English guitarist called Robert Fripp. A new name to us, but I guess he'll catch on if he sounds like we do! Spidered and Be
