"12 Γ 5" is the second American studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released in 1964 following their American debut "England's Newest Hit Makers". The album is an expanded version of the UK EP "Five by Five". The five tracks from the EP were combined with seven additional recordings to create an LP. The added tracks included the UK single "It's All Over Now", a cover of a Bobby Womack song that became the group's first UK number-one hit, an alternative version of "Time Is on My Side", and three original compositions by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. The album largely features rhythm and blues covers, alongside three Jagger/Richards originals and two group compositions credited to the pseudonym "Nanker Phelge". "12 Γ 5" is notable for including the first version of Jerry Ragovoy's "Time Is on My Side", which features a prominent electronic organ rather than the electric guitar heard on later releases. Following recording sessions in Chicago in June 1964, Decca Records released the five-song EP "Five by Five" in the UK. For the American market, London Records added seven new recordings to the EP to create a twelve-track album, giving the album its title. The additional tracks included the singles "It's All Over Now" and "Time Is on My Side" with their B-sides, along with three songs later appearing on "The Rolling Stones No. 2". Decca later used the same cover (without the lettering) for the band's second UK album, "The Rolling Stones No. 2", released
