“Wrecking Ball” has been described as having a Brian Eno vibe by past bassist, Carlos Dengler. He also said that the song is quite immediate due to its visceral verse vocal melody. Carlos during an interview with Chart Attack: "It has kind of a Brian Eno vibe to it. And then at the end it shifts into this orchestral, symphonic thing. It’s quite an immediate song because the verse vocal melody is very visceral. But then the rest of it is way out there."
