“Wonder,” the lead single and title track to Mendes' fourth studio album is being described as “the emblematic of Shawn’s profound state of contemplation,” with references to his relationship with Camila Cabello, and marks the first release in over a year since the duet with Camila on “Señorita”. Initially confirmed by radio personality Elvis Duran, Shawn announced the song on September 30, 2020, following with a teaser video featuring the album’s intro.
