On “Why,” Bazzi wonders why his ex-girlfriend maintains feelings for him even though he wronged her often in their relationship and considers himself an “asshole.” Throughout the song, Bazzi admits to the many different ways he’s been rude by not responding to her texts, hanging out with her friends, and even sleeping with them. However, he wonders why she still shows him unconditional love even though he knows he doesn’t deserve it.
