"When You're Gone" is a duet by Bryan Adams and Melanie C (from the Spice Girls), from the former's eighth studio album, On a Day Like Today (1998). The song was written by Eliot Kennedy and Adams, while produced by Adams and Bob Rock. It was released by A&M Records on November 30, 1998, as the second single from the album in addition to being Melanie C's debut single outside the Spice Girls. Musically, it contains genres of pop, pop rock and soft rock, and is performed as a duet between Adams and Melanie C with a guitar solo.
