A live version of “When” was originally included as the last track on dodie’s debut EP "Intertwined". Over 4 years later, they remastered the song for their debut album. The song is also the sixth and final in a series of songs connected by a 13-piece string section. "I wrote this when I was 19. It’s quite abstract because I didn’t really know what I was saying. I hadn’t gone through therapy and I wasn’t really sure of myself. And in a way, it kind of makes it more poetic and free.
