An indie song written by British songwriter, Kevin Gray, in 2006, it is based on a real relationship where a newly-married man has an affair for 2 years during his engagement, even honeymoon. His deceit and life of fiction so much expand to the extent that he alludes to being a spy to keep his affair going. The song is named after the eponymous fictional character from a 1939 James Thurber short story. The character lives a life of fantasy and delusion. It was made famous by Danny Kaye in a film in 1947.
