Aled Jones shot to fame with this version of 'Walking in the Air' - the soundtrack that accompanies the 'flight scene' from Raymond Briggs' "The Snowman", commisioned by UK Channel Four and first aired Christmas 1982. It is widely assumed that Aled Jones is the original singer however the original soundtrack, still aired today, is sung by choir-boy Peter Auty.
