“WAGING WAR“ references the character’s “war” in his head with his pessimistic, existential thoughts, it’s also referring to the waging war the waves have constantly at sea. Oleka’s part in this song resembles a loved one, or a conscience of the character in the story. She has her doubts about him going on his journey, and is scared he might opt for the “common solution” people often tend to take when they are not in their best mental state.
