This song title is a pun on the famous 20th Century Fox movie studio and the modern-day woman described in the song. She is glamorous, yet artificial. According to the Waiting for the Sun Doors archive, Jac Holzman said the track was originally intended to be the follow-up single behind “Break On Through (To the Other Side).” However, the popularity of “Light My Fire” forced them to go in a different direction.
