"True Colors" is a song by Cyndi Lauper released in August 15, 1986. It was written by songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, as-well as being produced by Cyndi Lauper and Lennie Petze, it is both the title track and the lead single released for Cyndi Lauper's second album of the same name (1986). True Colors spent 2 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 between October & November 1986, becoming Cyndi's second #1 song following "Time After Time" in 1984 and to date her most recent single to occupy the top of the chart.
