The song was written by Samia after reading about the death of George Dyer, who was the British painter Francis Bacon’s lover and muse, while going through a difficult breakup. According to Samia, "Triptych" was “a blatant cry for help”. The song was covered by Field Medic for Samia’s project The Baby Reimagined in 2021.
