Three Dogs started life as a poem by vocalist Jon Wisbey, but at the request of the band it was soon set to music and included on the album Alien Stash Tin, which was in pre-production at the time, and it was during the recording that the middle narration section was added. This song about domestic conflict leading to murder and suicide is still performed live on occasions.
