"The Springhill Mining Disaster" (aka "The Ballad of Springhill") is a song written by American folksinger Peggy Seeger and English folksinger Ewan MacColl and originally performed by them in 1959 as an a cappella duet. About a series of Canadian mining disasters in 1958, the song (different from Bill Clifton's "Springhill Disaster") has been covered by a number of other artists.
