The Scorpion” was one of three singles from The System Has Failed. This song is about the fable of the frog and the scorpion. The scorpion meets the frog and asks if it would help him cross a river. The frog refuses because he doesn’t trust the scorpion. The scorpion replies that he himself would drown if he killed the frog. The frog agrees and lets the scorpion on its back. Midriver, the scorpion stings the frog with its tail, which dooms them both.
