The Joke is a song that appeared on Saro Cosentino's 2022 album, The Road To Now. It was also released as a video and standalone track by Saro Cosentino and Peter Hammill who wrote the lyrics and sings. Tim Bowness, David Rhodes (Peter Gabriel guitarist) and Trey Gunn (King Crimson) are also featured on the track. The lyrics and accompanying video wrestle with the self-destructive behavior of human beings manifested in environmental damage we inflict on the only planet we have to live on.
