“Now I’ve come to realise/You were just a/Choo-choo choo-ch-choo” goes the unambiguous refrain on Emperor Minge’s ‘The Choot Song’. Between the band name and the song title, you can get a pretty accurate idea of songwriter-keyboardist Stefan Kaye’s slightly risqué and irreverently honest take on, well, most things. Sung in the plain but solid voice of Parvati Krishnan, it’s a good old “go fuck yourself” to some “sad and old” fellow and his “sweaty fantasies.
