Khawlah bint al Azwar, the daughter of one of the Chiefs of Banu Assad tribe and one of the earliest female converts to Islam. She was trained by his brother, Dirrar ibn Azwar al Asadi, in all of combat skills such as horsemanship, swordmanship, archery etc. and became a knight. She is mostly notable for her attempt to rescue her brother during battle of Bayt Lahyah as he was captured by Romans where she earned the title '' the black knight'' because she was wearing black men's attire and couldn't be recognized by Muslims.
