This song tells the story of a terrible fire that broke out at the Arcade Building in Knoxville, Tennessee in the early hours of either Thursday 20 March or Friday 21 March 1930. The Arcade Building was not related to the building known by that name now in Knoxville: 'Built around 1910, it was a modest two-story brick building on Union between Market and Walnut, broader than it was tall.'
