This song was written about the potato farmer and was played every morning during harvest on a radio show that the farmers would call into and let the crews know if they wer "going on time" or any other situation they may have such as "raining won't dig today" or "starting to rain will hold off until daylight" "frost on the ground will wait until later after ground warm up " etc. etc. etc.
