Miles 'Cassowary' Shannon is the latest laidback virtuoso of the LA scene where jazz and hip-hop co-exist. His solo debut also reveals subtle and accesible songwriting. Superhiro is a great example of his skills: balmy, heat haze-damaged jazz-funk, with skittering beats and a fusion guitar solo that never undermine the tune's immediacy.
