The opening verse suggests that the speaker feels uncomfortable in her own body, turning right instead of left - a metaphor for feeling off-course. However, a person she addresses as "boy" has magical patience that brings her peace and comfort even during the darker moments in life. The chorus repeats the refrain "so no regrets", and reinforces the idea that the romance is a positive and necessary force in the speaker's life.
