“SUBSTANCE” is the second single from American singer Demi Lovato's eighth studio album Holy Fvck. The track was written by Demi Lovato, OAK, Alex Niceforo, Keith Sorrells, Laura Veltz & Jutes. It was first teased by Lovato on an Instagram post in January of 2022, using lyrics of the song’s pre-chorus. Later, they revealed audio of the bridge on March 22, 2022 in another Instagram story. On June 29, 2022, Demi posted a video on TikTok showing another snippet of the song and the pre-save link was announced in the same day.
