"Staring at the Ceiling" is the first single from Hannah Diamond’s sophomore album. It was announced on February 21st, 2022 via social media. The song was released three days later alongside a visualizer. The song was produced by David Gamson, longtime idol of Diamond’s primary collaborator A. G. Cook. Gamson has previously written and produced for artists including Kelly Clarkson, Kesha, and Jessie J, but this song marks his first time producing a PC Music release.
