Spiral Architect is the closing track on Black Sabbath’s fifth studio album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, released in November 1973 via Vertigo Records. The song was written by Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Ozzy Osbourne, and was produced by the band with engineering by Mike Butcher. It begins with Tony Iommi’s acoustic guitar playing arpeggiated open-string patterns before expanding into electric riffing and string arrangements orchestrated by Will Malone.
