A Texan scholar of pop and the weird, Williamson's chamber folk has a distinct kinship to that of Weyes Blood. "Sometimes, as a woman, we are expected to hold the weight of everyone else's sorrow," she told MOJO. "That's why I call the album Sorceress. Not because I am one, but because I am expected to be one."
