One of the finest writing and performance efforts from this underrated singer-songwriter, "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me" was released both on Karla Bonoff's 1977 self-titled debut (produced by sometime collaborator Kenny Edwards) and also on Linda Ronstadt's 1976 "Hasten Down the Wind", with Karla featured on backup vocals. The song is a piano-driven song that is memorable both for the strong lyric hauntingly delivered by Ms. Bonoff and her rhythmic piano riff.
