"This song is one of the less obvious tracks. There's a lot more cleverness to the way the lyrics were put together. I love the fact that we all work on lyrics together in the studio because of the collaboration on the more metaphorical lines. Anyways, 'Slice of Life' is about elitist kids who think their opinion on musical taste is the only right one. It's also about the kids who need to inflict fear on other people by physically or verbally abusing others to prove a point.
