“Slave Master” plays off the use of the word ‘whip’ the song’s hook. Cars are often referred to as ‘whips’ in hip-hop, and Future claims he has a new whip (vehicle) “like I’m a slave master,” since slave masters would use the weapon on slaves. The play on words is very clever, and seems to be a tongue and cheek reference to the racial tension building in America, since Future also references Eric Garner’s last words in the track “I Serve the Base”. On July 27, 2022, “Slave Master” was certified gold by the RIAA.
