“Shit” comes after an existential sequence in which Burnham portrays a “Let’s Play” Gamer character who is playing an INSIDE simulation, controlling Burnham, where he is locked into his room with nothing else to do but cry and play his piano, which only grants momentary happiness. Burnham talks about feeling like “Shit”, and that several inconveniences in his life at that point have contributed to him feeling like Shit.
