Originally written by Irish Australian Eric Boygle it was first covered by Williamson on Warragul. The ballad takes a look at Australia from the perspective of a recent immigrant and finishes with the haunting refrain "may she always be our shelter, may we always live in peace". At concerts Boygle has been quoted in saying that although he wrote the song Williamson's cover is the better version of the ballad.
