The track was recorded at Golden World studios, a subsidiary of Motown, in Detroit in 1966. The session was produced by Andre Williams, the song's writer. "Strong Foundation" was the flip side. Debutantes members at the time were Jan McClellan (lead vocals & guitar), Mary Linton (rhythm & vocals), Carol Linton (bass & vocals), and Jan "Jino" Chominksi (drums & vocals). McClellan and Chominski have recently become re-acquainted, as have most of the band's other members from its 6 year history.
