"Scripted" seems to be a commentary on the music industry, and how scripted everything a public figure either says or does is. Zayn (who was in the spotlight from a young age ) would definitely have seen and had experiences with this type of thing. Along with a person’s words being planned out, the song seems to also talk about how the media and general public often do not know the full/true story. As for the musical elements the song has strong piano backing and dreamy guitar and bass, making it a unique and beautiful addition to the album.
