“Savior” was the twelfth track off of Californication. Written by Anthony Kiedis, this song is about the relationship between Kiedis and his father, Blackie Dammett. Kiedis' parents were separated, so he lived the beginning of his life with his mother in Michigan but moved to Hollywood, California to live with his father when he was twelve years old. Dammett was a drug dealer. Because of this, Kiedis was exposed to drugs and sex at a very young age
