Electric folk version of Robert Burns's protest poem, lamenting the 1707 Act of Union between the Kingdoms of England and Scotland. It was thought by many ordinary Scots at the time that Scottish nobles—who had wasted almost the country's entire treasury on an ill-fated 'New Scotland' in the Isthmus of Panama—had sold out Scottish independence for a "pocketful of gold".
