"We wrote 'Rodeo' on a day we were feeling really stuck creatively. We were looking back through old voice memos and stumbled upon a cool chord progression and loose melody, which ended up being the chorus and the pre-chorus. Etta started playing the lead riff, and it immediately felt like, 'Woah. This is really special.' The song is written from the perspective of two people we kind of left behind, romantically. It’s our attempt at honoring their stories by tapping into the feeling of being replaced by someone else."
