A single from The Blackbyrds' 1975 album "City Life." The song peaked at number 37 on the Billboard R&B charts, a minor hit for the group. The song title refers to Rock Creek Park, a large park in Washington, D.C., where the group was formed/based. The song came out of a jam session that the band had in New Jersey while opening for the Commodores. The lyrics were largely improvised by Keith Killgo, the band's drummer. The lyrics describe the clandestine happenings in the titular park after dark.
