Rise was written after I've met Vitor Ramil, a great musician from the South of Brazil to whom I have great admiration. After a nice dinner and a few bottles of wine at a friend's house in Angel, London, Vitor picked up the guitar (or rather, was forced to!) and played for us. That was instantly touching and inspiring. I got home that night and couldn't sleep.. so I wrote Rise. The minute the song was ready I knew straight away that it was a song for Eleni to sing.
