"Reason to Believe" is a song released by Carpenters for their sophomore album Close to You. It was written by Tim Hardin for his debut album Tim Hardin 1, in 1966. It was one of the first songs Richard asked Karen to sing for the "Magic Lamp Label" sessions between 1966 and 1968. For years he liked the song, so finally did a version of it at the studio.
