“raw” is a smooth, vulnerable, and beautifully executed modern R&B record that can fit any and every mood. Although it’s an easy listen, its production is far from that. The skill it takes to blend together energies and sounds that are as equally brash as they are clean, are respected and appreciated. Combining delicate instrumentation, heart-on-sleeve lyricism and gospel backing vocals, "raw" is a slick, soul-tinged love song that captures LOONY at her best.
